’93 -‘94 Materials Director, Pameco, Houston, Tx
Pameco is a national distributor of heating and air-conditioning equipment with regional headquarters in Houston. They supply seventy two stores in the Southwest from the Houston facility.

’87 -‘93 GTE
2yrs Materials Manager GTE Sylvania, Montoursville, Pa This GTE plant produced high volume consumer light bulbs, commercial and industrial lighting, and was one of GTE Lighting’s new product development plants. We created the compact fluorescent lamp and it’s production line there. We also developed the production lines for the halogen capsules used in many of today’s light bulbs. My department was responsible for a wide range of materials, from cast iron machine bases to high volume injection molded plastic parts to helium leak detection equipment. During my tenure I reduced inventory levels by thirty percent and introduced the benchmarking process to the facility. I was a member of the GTE national procurement management group.

3yrs Purchasing Manager GTE Mobilnet(Verizon Cellular), Houston, Tx I established the purchasing department for the GTE Mobilnet division of GTE. In three years we ramped up to department consisting of a corporate office in Houston and five regional offices around the country with annual purchases of three hundred and fifty million dollars. Documented cost savings ran in excess of one million dollars annually. During this time I also was a member of the GTEAMS (MRP II) implementation team and a member of the GTE national procurement management group.

’81 - ‘86 Purchasing Manager Lynes Div., Baker Oil Tool, Houston, Tx
Lynes was a niche market oilfield equipment manufacturer with two distinct product lines, inflatable packers and down hole oilfield electronics. Annual sales were about sixty million dollars. The electronic tools were very sophisticated electronic assemblies built to mil spec criteria capable of performing in the hot high pressure down hole environment. Most of the tools had a cylindrical form factor of 1-1/4” to 2” O.D. by 36-72” long. A number of our circuit boards were multi-layer, one chip wide by up to 30” long. During the oilfield downturn of the early eighties we remained profitable through aggressive inventory control and reduction practices and other cost containment procedures. While at Lynes I was a member of the team that implemented the Man Man MRP II system by ASK.

’80 - ’81 Buyer II ARAMCO Services, Houston, Texas
ARAMCO Services is the U.S. supply organization for the Arabian American Oil Company in Saudi Arabia. I purchased electronic equipment, machine tools and other technical materials for the production operations and for the technical schools.

’75 - ‘80 Purchasing Manager UNR Rohn, Peoria. Il
Rohn is a diversified manufacturer of goods incorporating steel tubular components with tube mills and plants in three states. Their product lines included towers for communications companies, livestock confinement systems, and consumer patio furniture. I was responsible for the raw steel purchases and had purchasing and inventory control responsibility for all sites. During my tenure I was on the implementation team for the UNIS MRP system.

’72 - ‘74 Purchasing Engineer Kress Corp., Brimfield, Il
Kress is an engineered to order manufacturer of heavy off road mobile equipment for the mining and steel smelting industries. I joined the startup company in the engineering department and took over the purchasing and inventory and production control responsibility as my interests changed to the materials management side of the business.
